A zoological park has a threefold role:
🔹 Educational: Raising awareness about the necessity of protecting animals and their habitats.
🔹 Conservation: Managing populations of endangered species through controlled breeding, which has become essential for their survival, and supporting associations working in situ for species protection.
🔹 Research: Hosting research teams or sharing knowledge gained through direct contact with animals.
In recent years, zoos have also been entrusted with another major mission: providing a sanctuary for wild animals rescued from trafficking or abandoned.
